IoT The Internet of Things

Many organizations face competitive pressures and rapidly evolving customer needs. In response, they are embarking on digital transformation by bringing together people, data and processes. IoT (Internet of Things) is enabling to happen this digital transformation driven by some core industries such as manufacturing, transportation, government, retail/wholesale, and healthcare.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a collection of services that connect, monitor, and control devices that communicate with one or more back-end services remotely hosted. All industries are using Azure IoT to invent new lines of business, and implement the latest improvements in infrastructure, safety,  productivity (human capital & operations optimization), security, development, and reduce waste by using AI and machine learning to quickly process massive quantities of data from all kinds of IoT devices.

An IoT device is typically made up of a circuit board with sensors attached that use WiFi to connect to the internet, like a pressure sensor on a remote oil pump, a temperature and humidity sensors in an air-conditioning unit, the accelerometer in an elevator or presence sensors in a room. There's a wide variety of devices available from different manufacturers to build your solution.
